I found this lovely Snowman Mitten pattern on Ravelry. I did adjust it a bit, making a regular thumb instead of the afterthought thumb written in the pattern. I included some of the mitten guidelines from Ann Budd's Book of Handy Patterns. The yarn is Knit Picks Swish Worsted in the Red Pepper colorway. I will also make Justin a matching hat from Hats On! by Charlene Schurch. I will knit his younger brother, Joshua, a set in blue. I used my Clover 7" bamboo dpns in size 4 (3.5 mm) for the cuff and size 5 (3.75 mm) dpns for the rest of the mitten. On the size 5 dpns, I have a gauge of 5.5 sts and 8 rows to the inch. Hopefully, these mittens will be more waterproof than the acrylic mittens I have made for them in the past.
How cute!

These are adorable.
While they may not actually be waterproof (I think you still need grease from the wool still in the yarn for that) they should dry out faster since the natural fiber is more breathable compared to the synthetic.
