Here is my Azalea Lace Center Piece after blocking. It measures about 30 inches across. I really like the design and it was a lot of fun to knit. This is the first pattern I have knit from The First Book of Modern Lace Knitting. I used size 6 needles and dk weight yarn for this piece. The examples in the book use size 1 or 2 needles and size 40 to 60 cotton thread. I never memorized the pattern completely, but I did become familiar enough with the rows that I didn't have to constantly look at the chart. There are some interesting square and rectangular pieces in this book that are also knit in the round. Now that I feel I have an understanding of the patterns in this book, I will have more confidence when I knit these patterns with smaller needles and thinner yarn.
About all I can say is...........WOWZA!!!!

It looks great. I love the stitch pattern. (We kind of have a leaf motif in our home, so I am thinking this might make a great throw.) Hmmmmm.

This is AWESOME! I have never really tackled lace. And your spun stuff is amazing, too. I guess spinning very fine goes along with fine fine lace knitting. I tend to make big clunky hats! (they do knit up fast).

Absolutely gorgeous. I have been wanting to knit the Rose of England from her books. You're making me itch to start!
