I've been doing more spindle spinning as I read "Respect the Spindle" by Abby Franquemont. I received this Tulipwood & Maple spindle from Steve and Connie of Spindlewood Co on Saturday. I have a 2.25" square spindle and a 2.75" square spindle. This one is 2.5" and completes my Spindlewood set. Connie and Steve worked within my specifications to create this 1.3 ounce spindle that spins perfectly. It spins for so long that I have to stop it from spinning so I can wind my single on. I especially like how stripey the tulipwood is. The maple compliments the tulipwood very nicely, too. I was quite inspired by my new spindle and got a good bit of spinning done. Spindle spinning just a few minutes each day adds up to make some pretty 2-ply yarn in no time.
Thank you to Connie & Steve for all of their help with my new spindle.

Oh, your spindle and yarn look gorgeous. I have been courious of spinning for quite a while. Do you think it would be wise of me to order the same spindle and book? Also I would love a good source of roving. I normally knit socks so would love a good 2 ply.
Thank you for abetting me in extending my love of yarn and knitting.

The spindle looks great & I love the color of the yarn that you are spinning. It's so great to be able to spin your own yarn.

That's a beautiful spindle! I would get more into spindle spinning if it didn't mean that I would need to stand up while doing it. I am so lazy....
